“Cool Drones” Airs On Saturday Night Live

This past Saturday, NBC’s Saturday Night Live aired ‘Cool Drones,’ the first episode of ‘Midnight Snack,’ the new animated series on the live television show. Produced by Augenblicks Studios, written by Rob Klein and Zach Kanin, and animated by Solis Animation, ‘Cool Drones’ is about a group of drones created by the US military who happen to have other talents. Athens Animation Festival

The short ‘Global Politics in Thirty Seconds’, which Augenblick Studios produced for the hit TV show Wonder Showzen, will be shown at the first annual Athens Animation Festival in upstate New York on September 15.

The festival, produced by Margo Pelletier and Lisa Thomas, will focus on social/political animation, and will also feature the work of JJ Sedelmaier and Yoko Ono, among others.

Saturday Morning Cartoons with Augenblick Studios

This past Saturday Aaron Augenblick screened some of his favorite cartoons in addition to his own at The Bellwether in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Ticket holders enjoyed a complimentary Mimosa or Modelo, and housemade cereal with Hudson Valley milk. Stay tuned for similar future events!

Solis Animation Visit

This past weekend we took a trip up north to visit our friends in Canada who are working on layout and animation for Ugly Americans Season 2B. The studio is owned by Lou and Les Solis who have worked with Augenblick in the past, and is also run by Production Manager Anna Keenan and Line Producer Martin Markle. We were impressed by their operation and look forward to seeing the finished product.
