Radio station KPCW hosted a fascinating discussion with Aaron and Mike about animation and Utah traffic conditions. Regular caller “Abby” delighted listeners with her anecdotes about Scooby Doo.

The midnight show of The Ten was a raucous event. Our animation looked great, and the money shot was well-received. It was a proud moment for the studio.

After the premiere, we were kidnapped by a van full of Ohio State college students and taken to a cabin deep in the woods of Utah. Unfortunately their cabin was haunted, and before the night was over, Mike’s blood was splattered across the walls. We made our getaway at sunrise within an inch of our lives.

After the Ten cocktail party, we cabbed it over to Prospector Theater in Park City to catch the Animation Spotlight, which included our animation, Golden Age. The audience was great, despite it being a midnight show, and the Q&A was thankfully short and sweet.

Bright lights, Park City. The crew hit the party like a frieght train, revved up by G’n'R and a copious amount of liquor.

Friday afternoon was strictly business. We got our tickets, drank, and worked on some promotions. Golden Age posters were thrown up onto the main strip and lasted about half an hour until the HBO promotions team steam rolled their ads over every inch of wall space available.
BANDITS: Cartoonist M. Wartella (The Ten animatics), Jeremy Jusay (The Ten background artist), and Chris Burns (The Ten lead animator) at Bandits Bar & Grill.

King Missile’s Bradford Reed (Golden Age composer) is a WANTED man at Bandits.

Aaron had to run off to a photo shoot so the remaining crew went to project greenhouse to watch Ed Begley Jr ride his bicycle that powered some of the lights in the room where were were drinking organic vodka cocktails. Big thanks to Chris Rubino of STUDIO18HUNDRED for getting us into that.
We’ve got a big night ahead of us with The Ten Cocktail Party and the Premiere of Golden Age. Check in later to find out what the night had in store for us.

First thing on our agenda was to get our bodies acclimated to high altitude drinking, so with a little inspirtation from Rocky we boozed it up with a bunch of drinks starting off with jaeger and vodka bombs, and later strengthened our endurance by doing shots of Wild Turkey with a raw egg.

Ok, we’ve all settled in to our condo at the Newpark Resort in Park City, Utah. It’s 7:21PM Mountain Time, and it’s pitch dark outside and cold. Bradford’s already hit the hot tub and Kris is taking a power nap after being near-comatose on our 7-hour flight from New York. Mike and Kevin were the last entries about a half hour ago and we’re revving to get some grub.

Thursday, January 18th, 2007
The flight was seven hours long. Much happened. The highlights include: Kris drinking multiple shots before we even boarded the plane; Kris vomitting into his hand while we were landing in Chicago; Aaron handling Kris’s vomit-covered jacket.

First post! If I can manage it, there’ll be pictures, stories, and video of our adventures in Utah. At least two of us will be carrying digital still cameras that have video capabilities, so we’ll have something to entertain the lot of you. Wish us luck.
